Vineyards: Être Chardonnay is a vineyard blend from two of Sonoma’s most respected vineyards, Sangiacomo and Durell Vineyard. Both vineyards are located on a lifted part of the valley floor, known for its alluvial soil. This soil profile, along with the area’s famous early morning sun exposure and signature afternoon winds, create a bright and beautiful wine.
Winemaking: Être is an un-oaked and non-malolactic Chardonnay. The grapes for our 2015 Etre Chardonnay were harvested in the early morning to preserve fruit flavors and bright acidity and immediately transferred to the winery where they were whole fruit pressed. The juice was then racked to a small fermentation tank and inoculated with a minimal amount of Chablis/Burgundy yeast. After cold fermenting at 55 F for just over 100 days, the wine was sur lie aged for an additional 8 months to impart a rich creaminess to the core Chardonnay flavors. The wine was bottled unfined and lightly filtered.

Tasting Notes: Incredibly enjoyable with or without food, our very Chablis-like 2015 Etre brims with bright fruit and crisp minerality . Fresh notes of pineapple, white strawberry, lemon zest, white peach and nectar fan out on the palate, picking up an undertone of sweet cream; all of which is lifted through the crisp finish by lovely wet-stone acidity. Enjoy upon release or cellar for up to 4-7 years.
